How to Study Physics

Knowing the best way to attack a problem will bring you the best result. Taking that approach to studying physics is no exception. Utilizing a study plan and making it your own will enable you not only to get the most from your physics class, it will also help you pass the final exam. Here is how to study physics and make the grade

 Instructions

    • 1
Maintain a positive attitude. Attitude is everything when you are learning to ride a bike or learning the stresses on a bridge. Know that even if you think you will not be using this information in your adult life, you still will benefit from having learned it.
    • 2
Connect the physics content with your interests when you study. Physics is literally everywhere. If you're interested in water sports, get into studying the surface tension and how the jet ski is able to stay on top of the water.
    • 3
Keep negative thoughts away. Negative self talk during a physics test is sure to get you a failing grade. Tell yourself you are smart and that you can get this stuff. Don't let the internal critic get the best of you.
    • 4
Take time each day to study. It is known that you retain information longer when you take a short time each day to review it. Physics is certainly no exception. Try to revisit your formulas, such as force and acceleration formulas, every day to more easily commit them to memory.

Get help if you need it. Tell your parents that you want to do better in physics and you think you need some help. A tutor can give you an individualized study plan geared especially for your learning style.
